So, since last Friday (10/3), I’ve been LOCKED IN on making this website. Now, you may ask “Wave, why you making a website?” Good question. Here’s one answer:

Ownership of my art.

Yes, my music is out on all the major DSP’s (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora, etc.) and that’s cool and all, but they pay shit. Look up how much an artist makes off of one stream then come back.

For them big label artist, cool. They have a team to make that money quick cuz folk gonna flock to the mainstream no doubt.

Me tho? $0.0014 can’t feed my kids and I. It can’t pay the rent. It can’t even buy a pack of Petal Wrap Natty’s! The hell I’ma do with that?

So, I’m taking all my stuff. Sure, you can still stream my stuff on DSP’s, but I’d prefer you support me directly. Hell, buy the music here then listen on other sites. I’ma always appreciate you more than the CEO’s of Spotify nem.

Aaaaand you can ACTUALLY TALK TO ME. So why not support artists directly?

I put a lot of time into my art and “if boss can make a dollar outta my 2 cents, why the fuck wouldn’t I do the same for myself” (Dub From You; Where the Flamingos Fly).

With that being said, please support the Wave in anyway you see fit. Whether that’s by donating, subscribing, sharing, or just listening. Everything counts to the greater goal of getting this music out.
